Looking for the Best Free Math Apps

I’m trying to help my child improve in math, but we’re on a tight budget. Does anyone know of any great free math apps that are effective and engaging for kids? We need something that makes learning fun and is easy to use. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Try Khan Academy Kids! It’s totally free, with no adds and all, and packed with math games and activities that make learning fun for kids. The lessons are interactive and cover a broad range of math topics. Another good one is Prodigy Math Game. It’s an RPG-style game where kids answer math questions to advance through the game. My kiddo loves it!

Also, I’ve heard good things about SplashLearn. It’s free for the basic version and has some cool math exercises. It’s super engaging and offers detailed progress tracking.

Oh, and while not exactly an app, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) website has free resources that might help. You’ll have to browse and print stuff, but they’re high-quality.

Hope that helps! :rocket: Happy math-ing!

@Sognonotturno’s suggestions are pretty solid, especially Khan Academy Kids :brain: and Prodigy Math Game. But, have you checked out Math Kids by RV AppStudios? It’s another free one that’s loaded with math games targeted at preschoolers to early elementary. My son got hooked on its vibrant graphics and fun interactions.

Also, don’t sleep on Mathway. Although it’s mainly a math solver, it can help older kids understand step-by-step solutions to algebra and more. It’s kind of like having a math tutor in your pocket.

For something a bit different, try Bedtime Math. It’s not an app but more of a daily math problem series wrapped in funny stories you can read together at bedtime. Makes the learning casual and fun.

If your child prefers a more competitive edge, consider XtraMath. It’s free and focuses on building speed and fluency in basic math facts. It’s less flashy but quite effective.

Sorry, but I’ve found SplashLearn to sometimes feel a bit too basic for older kids, so depending on your child’s level, mileage may vary. But hey, different strokes for different folks, right? :game_die:
